JESS FRASER

Abu Dhabi Pro Trials 2013

Brown belt Jess Fraser is the founder and driving force behind Australian Girls in Gi.  She is fiercely proud to be the leader and organiser of this groundbreaking group ~ which is currently (& forever will be) club and affiliate neutral.

Jess recognises the need for cultivating an all inclusive culture and community to proactively effect the retention and growth of participation within our sport, particularly in regard to females athletes. Through AGIG, Jess has proactively worked on this goal, focusing on community development and member support with great result since 2010.

Jess is proactively involved at her own team gym, Dominance Mixed Martial Arts where she works in the role of club manager.
DMMA, in kind, supports her in ways that should be commended; allowing her the opportunity to foster the growth of BJJ within our community through initiatives such as AGIG, and also supporting her as she creates large scale community focused events that benefit all (both men and women).
Dominance regularly encouranges open doors cross training for ladies from AGIG , allowing them the opportunity to train directly with this highly skilled brown belt female – a rare opportunity here in Australia.
Jess utilises this progressive thinking and has not only created AGIG but is also now one of the Directors of successful athlete focused tournament series, Grappling Tournaments Australia.

In the past 5 years,  Jess has not only excelled as an athlete, representing Australia 3 times in Abu Dhabi, medalling twice in those appearances, as well as bringing home bling from the Worlds in LA, she has also created and managed over 40 competitions (small to large scale), as well as running the largest female only events currently held in the world (last attendance for 3 day camp was 120+ women).

If you have not yet met her, she’s probably most keen to meet you where she’s at her best – in a gi and on the mats.
